Disclosed are a method for determining a terminal position and terminal equipment. The method comprises: firstly acquiring a first target image by terminal equipment, and determining the length of each edge of the first target image; then acquiring an edge having a maximum length among the edges of the first target image as a target edge, and determining the number of pixel points contained in the target edge; then determining whether the number of the pixel points is less than a preset threshold or not; if it is determined that the number of the pixel points is less than the preset threshold, dividing the first target image into at least two sub images according to a preset division rule; then determining a gray value of each sub image in the at least two sub images, and acquiring a sub image having a maximum gray value among the at least two sub images as a target sub image; and further determining a position, relative to a preset reference position, of the target sub image, and using the position, relative to the preset reference position, of the target sub image as a terminal position. The efficiency for determining a terminal position can be increased by implementing embodiments of the present invention. |
