The invention relates to a fuel system for a motor vehicle, with a fuel tank (1), devices (8) for detecting the fill level of the liquid fuel in the fuel tank (1), and venting devices (10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19) which comprise at least one venting valve (14, 15, 16), a liquid trap (18), arranged within the fuel tank (1) and connected to the venting valve (14, 15, 16), for separating off liquid fuel, and a pump (20) for emptying the liquid trap (18). So that refuelling is possible even after the motor vehicle has been parked for a relatively long time in a sloping position, without noticeably increasing the energy consumption of the motor vehicle when stationary, the fuel system according to the invention comprises devices (23, 9) for detecting an angle of inclination (a) of the fuel tank (1) and devices (27) for activating the pump (20) depending on the fill level of the liquid fuel in the fuel tank (1) and on the angle of inclination (a) of the fuel tank (1). |
