364,234. Roller bearings. STRICKLAND, S. A., 1405, Balmoral Avenue, ZIMMERMAN, T., 406, S. Newport Avenue, and BOWER ROLLER BEARING CO., 3040, Hart Avenue, all in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Oct. 31, 1930, No. 32848. [Class 12 (i).] In a bearing in which conical rollers 4 run on conical tracks 5 the cone 1 has a conical shoulder 6 with a groove 7 arranged so that the large end of each roller has a two point contact with the edge 9 formed between the shoulder 6 and groove 7. The contacting end face of the rollers may be plane or curved. The angle between the track 5 and shoulder 6 is equal to or greater than 90‹ so that the faces may be ground concurrently. The groove 7 forms a lubricant channel and serves to accommodate foreign matter that would otherwise enter between the bearing parts.
