1. A method, comprising:
receiving a signal transmitted from a first local point to begin a data collection sequence, and data from a global positioning device affixed to an object at the first local point, over at least one wireless connection a location proximate to the first local point; recording, at the location proximate to the first local point, a plurality of data relating to the object during the data collection sequence, the plurality of data including a first video of the object, and additional video of the object at one or more points distant from the location proximate to the first local point, the recording including configuring at least one of a pan, tilt, and zoom function determined by the data received from the global positioning device so that the first video and the additional video automatically record the plurality of data during the data collection sequence in response to communication from the global positioning device transmitting an object's position without further intervention; extracting information from the plurality of data relating to the object, the information comprised of vector-based spatial data derived from at least one of the first video, the additional video, and the global positioning device; processing the information and location data from a geographic information system, and periodically updating the information as additional data is collected from additional data collection sequences, in a plurality of data processing modules within a computing environment and executed in conjunction with at least one processor, the data processing modules configured to evaluate one or more activity characteristics derived from the information and the location data and related to movement of the object; and delivering output data representative of the one or more activity characteristics to a user. |
