1. A thermoplastic polyurethane obtainable from the reaction of the following components:
a) at least one organic diisocyanate, b) compounds which are reactive towards isocyanates and which in each case have number-average molar masses of from 500 to 10 000 g/mol, where the number-average functionality of the entirety of the components under b) is from 1.8 to 2.5, and c) chain extenders in each case having number-average molar masses of from 60 to 490 g/mol, where the number-average functionality of the entirety of the chain extenders under c) is from 1.8 to 2.5, where component b) comprises at least one polyol based on paraformaldehyde (b1).
