Various embodiments disclosed relate to compositions including an enzymatic breaker and an activator for treatment of subterranean formations. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a method of treating a subterranean formation. The method includes placing in a subterranean formation a composition including an enzymatic breaker and an enzyme activator including at least one of a) at least one hydroxy group or derivative thereof, and b) at least one sulfonic acid or a salt or ester thereof.
