A welded baffle liner assembly for protecting a filter vent from contact with the contents of a container, including a gas permeable baffle having at least one perforation welded to a liner, the welded baffle liner assembly being interposable between a mouth of the container and a filter vent housed within a cap engageable to the mouth of the container.
