The water analyzer includes a storage unit storing a calibration curve defining the relationship between the concentration of a chemical component and absorbance, a communication unit receiving the information regarding the chemical component of the water treatment chemical, an irradiation unit irradiating water to be analyzed with light, a detection unit detecting transmitted light, and an arithmetic and control unit calculating absorbance from the result of the detection by the detection unit, acquiring a calibration curve from the storage unit, and calculating the concentration of the chemical component with reference to the acquired calibration curve and the measured absorbance.

A system for calculating a concentration of a water treatment chemical, the system comprising: a water analyzer including an absorbance measuring device for measuring absorbance of water taken from a water system containing a water treatment chemical; a database that stores information regarding a type and proportion of a chemical component of the water treatment chemical; a server that sends the information regarding the type and proportion of the chemical component of the water treatment chemical to a communication device, the information being stored in the database; and the communication device that acquires the information regarding the type and proportion of the chemical component from the server and sends the acquired information to the water analyzer, the water analyzer further including a storage unit that stores a calibration curve defining a relationship between a concentration of a chemical component and absorbance,a communication unit that receives the information regarding a type and proportion of a chemical component of the water treatment chemical from the communication device, andan arithmetic and control unit that acquires a calibration curve from the storage unit, the calibration curve corresponding to the type of the chemical component contained in the received information, and calculates a concentration of the chemical component in the water system with reference to the acquired calibration curve and the measured absorbance or a concentration of the water treatment chemical on the basis of the concentration of the chemical component.
