A heating element, in particular for hair dryer appliances, comprises at least one heating wire (1) suitable to be crossed by an electric current. The heating wire is shaped so as to form a coil spring (12) that follows the course of a line wound around two cylinders with parallel main axes (X, X'), the direction of rotation around one cylinder being opposite to the direction of rotation around the other cylinder.
