The invention refers to an optical access network (11) comprising a customer side termination node (13) and a first network side termination node (15), wherein the first network side termination node (15) comprises a first transceiver arrangement (41) connected to a first optical link (21) and configured to send a first signal (s 1 ) to the customer side termination node (13) via the first link (21) and the customer side termination node (13) comprises a transceiver (53) for receiving the first signal (s 1 ). In order to provide an optical access network (11) that allows for a high degree of resilience and can be easily implemented it is suggested that the access network (11) comprises a second network side termination node (17) comprising a second transceiver arrangement (41) connected to a second optical link (25) and configured for sending a second signal (s2) to the customer side termination node (13) via the second link (25); the transceiver (53) of the customer side termination node (13) has a loopback element (55) for emitting a monitoring signal (p, d us ) via the first link (21) and the second link (25) back to the network side termination nodes (15, 17) for indicating whether the first signal (s1) and/or the second signal (s2) is present at the customer side termination node (13); and in that both network side termination nodes (15, 17) each have a link failure detector (49) for receiving the monitoring signal (p, d us ), detecting a link failure of the first link (21) depending on the monitoring signal (p, d us ) and activating or deactivating the transceiver arrangement (41) depending on said detecting. |
