Disclosed are a system and a method for providing location-based personalized information by using user location history information, while reducing battery consumption of a computing device. According to a desirable embodiment of the present invention, the computing device may comprise: a user location information acquisition unit configured to obtain user location information of a user of the computing device; a display unit configured to display information indicating a route of the user of the computing device; and a control unit configured to track a location of the user by controlling the user location information acquisition unit as a change in the location of the user is sensed based on the obtained user location information, to obtain information on an initial route of the user, to detect information on a predicted route of the user, and to provide the information on the predicted route of the user through the display unit.
