Various methods and systems are provided for imaging a tissue. In one example, a system comprises an adjustable arm, a scanning assembly attached to a first end of the adjustable arm, a counterweight coupled to a second end of the adjustable arm, and a weight adjustment system coupled to the counterweight and configured to modify an effective weight of the scanning assembly.

1. An imaging system, comprising:
an adjustable arm; an imaging assembly comprising a transducer, the imaging assembly attached to a first end of the adjustable arm; a counterweight coupled to a second end of the adjustable arm; a weight adjustment system including an adjustment bar and a first actuator coupled to the counterweight and configured to modify an effective weight of the imaging assembly; a frame housing the weight adjustment system; and a lock mechanism to look the weight adjustment system to the frame at a desired position; wherein the adjustment bar is coupled to a bottom of the counterweight and the first actuator is configured to adjust a length of the adjustment bar to adjust a position of the counterweight to modify the effective weight of the imaging assembly.
