The invention relates to a method for monitoring the processing of a processing system comprising a fluid line section (1) through which a processing fluid flows and which comprises an inflow opening and an outflow opening. A system component which influences the fluid flow is arranged between the inflow opening and the outflow opening, and the processing fluid flowing into the fluid line section (1) through the inflow opening flows out again through the outflow opening. According to the invention, a mass flow ṁ which flows through the system component and at least two material constants are detected as detection variables of the processing fluid in the fluid line section in a detection step within a specified detection duration in order to determine an operating point of the processing system in the fluid line section (1). If the processing fluid is gaseous, two thermodynamic material constants of the processing gas are detected in the detection step. The two thermodynamic material constants form a value pair from the specific gas constant Rs, the isentropic exponent γ, and the specific heat capacities at a constant pressure cp or for a constant volume cv. |
