Provided is a display device that is equipped with: a pixel having a first thin film transistor; and a drive circuit, which has a second thin film transistor, and which drives the pixel. The display device is configured such that a first channel region relating to the first thin film transistor, and a second channel region relating to the second thin film transistor have different electrical characteristics (for instance, electron mobilities), respectively, thereby enabling the first thin film transistor and the second thin film transistor to suitably operate for respective roles. A method for manufacturing the display device is also provided.
