The invention relates to a middle door shutting device with a pair of pulling and braking devices consisting of two pulling and braking devices, wherein each pulling and braking device comprises a carry-along element which is movable between a parking position, secured in a frictional and/or interlocking manner, and an end position with a rechargeable energy accumulator being discharged and with a displacement space of a cylinder/piston unit being reduced in size. Each carry-along element comprises a pull surface and a push surface which is offset with respect to the pull surface, the central normal vectors of which point in at least approximately opposite directions. In addition, the mutually facing pull and push surfaces of the two carry-along elements in each case form a pair of contacts at least in a partial stroke of the pulling and braking device. The present invention produces a middle door shutting device with which the middle door can be shut in two directions.
