PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rapid deceleration in driving control.SOLUTION: A driving control apparatus 100 includes a control device 10 executes: a vehicle state detection function; an other-vehicle information detection function; a virtual vehicle information calculation function which calculates travel information of a virtual vehicle which is temporarily set in a detection area to travel at a predetermined speed; a travel control function which controls travel of an own vehicle on the basis of travel information of another vehicle if the travel information of the other vehicle is detected, or on the basis of travel information of the virtual vehicle if no travel information of the other vehicle is detected; and a virtual-vehicle detection determination function which refers to map information including road gradient, and determines whether the virtual vehicle can be detected in a predetermined detection area on the basis of a relationship between the predetermined detection area and a virtual-vehicle area set temporarily as an area including the virtual vehicle. The travel control function executes a control to reduce the travel speed of the own vehicle when it is determined that the virtual vehicle cannot be detected in the detection area. |
