PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that can suppress damage to the ends of a fixing belt.SOLUTION: Two protective members 41 and 42 protecting each of the ends of a fixing belt 21 are disposed arranged in the axial direction between each of the ends of the fixing belt 21 and a belt holding member 40 that rotatably holds each of the ends of the fixing belt 21. The protective member 41 on the fixing belt 21 side is formed of a heat resistant resin, and the protective member 42 on the belt holding member 40 side is formed of a fluororesin having a smaller coefficient of friction than that of the heat resistant resin, and the coefficient of friction between the two protective members 41 and 42 is set smaller than the coefficient of friction between the protective member 41 on the fixing belt 21 side and the fixing belt 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
