PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device which appropriately controls a driving resolution of a projection lens in accordance with a projection environment.SOLUTION: A projection type display device includes: a driving part for driving a projection lens so that a position or a size of a projection image is changed; a projection environment detection part for detecting a projection environment of the projection image; a movable range determination part for determining a movable range of the projection lens on the basis of a projection environment; and a resolution control part for controlling a driving resolution of the driving part in accordance with the movable range of the projection lens; wherein when the movable range of the projection lens is a second movable range narrower than a first movable range, the resolution control part performs such a control that the driving resolution of the driving part becomes a second driving resolution finer than a first driving resolution for the first movable range. |
