PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel product sulfide stress corrosion cracking test method.SOLUTION: In a case of evaluating a sulfide stress corrosion cracking resistance of a rod-like tension test piece immersed in a test liquid by applying a certain load stress &sgr; (MPa) to the rod-like tension test piece and determining whether a rupture is present in the rod-like tension test piece until predetermined time passes, a corrosion-resistant resin is coated onto a predetermined width centering about a position in contact with a gas-liquid interface of the test liquid of any of entire shoulder portions and grip portions of the rod-like tension test piece to be used constituted by a parallel portion, the shoulder portions, and the grip portions. By doing so, it is possible to prevent the generation of non-uniform rupture at the position of the test piece grip portions in contact with the gas-liquid interface and the shoulder portions, to suppress the rupture in the grip portions and the shoulder portions, and to stably carry out a proper sulfide stress corrosion crack test. Even if a steel product is a high-strength steel product at a yield strength of not less than 758 NPa, it is possible to suppress the generation of the rupture in the shoulder portions and the grip portions and to properly evaluate the sulfide stress corrosion resistance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
