Disclosed are a method and device for generating a visual special effect image or video pair. The method mainly comprises: at least modifying the brightness of at least one region of an image or video of at least one view, so that the polarity of brightness contrast between the region and its perimeter regions in the view is opposite to the polarity of brightness contrast between a corresponding region and its perimeter regions in the other view, and the absolute value of the difference between the brightness contrast between the region and its perimeter regions in the view and the brightness contrast between a corresponding region and its perimeter regions in the other view is greater than a critical value; and obtaining a new image or video pair. When the obtained image or video pair is viewed separately by two eyes, a fluctuating lustre sensation appears in the region after processing. The present invention can add a special visual effect for content viewed in a stereoscopic display mode. |
