PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device incorporating a luminous element and a wavelength conversion member, which has only few variations in luminous color.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device 10 comprises a semiconductor light-emitting element 3 which emits blue light and a phosphor layer 5 formed on the reverse face side of the semiconductor light-emitting element 3 from which light is extracted and consisting of a resin containing a phosphor which absorbs the blue light emitted by the semiconductor light-emitting element 3 and converts it to yellow light. In the light-emitting device 10, furthermore, a front face and side faces of the semiconductor light-emitting element 3 which are other faces than the reverse face are covered with a reflection layer 6 consisting of a resin containing a reflection material. This composition allows the blue light emitted by the semiconductor light-emitting element 3 to be extracted from the inside through the phosphor layer 5 whose thickness is formed with high accuracy, so that a variation between chips in a ratio of the yellow light extracted after being converted in wavelength by the phosphor layer 5 to the blue light extracted without being converted in wavelength is restrained, making it possible to reduce a variation in luminous color. |
