PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of a synchronous motor with which, even if reversal runaway occurs, normal operation can be speedily recovered.SOLUTION: A control method of a synchronous motor for controlling a synchronous motor 1 with a permanent magnet as a field source in a position/velocity sensorless manner includes superimposing a high frequency Vdh to voltages Vd, Vqor currents id, iqto estimate a first phase error component &Dgr;&thetas; on the basis of a high frequency voltage or high frequency currents Idh, Iqh which flow in the synchronous motor 1. Further, a second phase error component &Dgr;&thetas;' is estimated on the basis of velocity electromotive forces ed, eq which are generated by rotating the synchronous motor 1, and a code of a velocity estimation ω. On the basis of a composite error component obtained by adding the first phase error component &Dgr;&thetas; and the second phase error component &Dgr;&thetas;', velocity control and phase computation are then performed. |
