PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure being an impact absorption structure for a vehicle body and the like being a simpler configuration without a great increase in weight and being capable of more appropriately controlling a buckling mode.SOLUTION: An impact absorption structure includes: a reinforcement body 10 being a plate-like member extending in a longitudinal direction of a movable body and being curved or bent; a plurality of belt-like bodies 11a and 11b being disposed at intervals in a circumferential direction thereof and having a length in the circumferential direction contracting upon application of a current; a first thin-edged body 13a disposed in a state that a cutting edge faces the reinforcement body 10 between a first region of a part of the plurality of belt-like bodies 11a and 11b and a region of the reinforcement body 10 opposite thereto; and a second thin-edged body 13b disposed in a state that the cutting edge faces the reinforcement body 10 between a second region of the other ones of the belt-like bodies 11a and 11b at a position offset against the first region in the circumferential direction and the region of the reinforcement body 10 opposite thereto; Upon detection of a collision, the current is applied thereto, the belt-like bodies 11a and 11b contract, the first and second thin-edged bodies 13a and 13b press and embrittle the region of the reinforcement body 10 and the reinforcement body 10 is easily collapsed. |
