SHIFTING DEVICE FOR EQUIPMENT IN LONG FORM FROM UPRIGHT POSITION TO FALLING SIDEWAYS POSITION AND VICE VERSA

PURPOSE:To allow a heavy equipment in a long form to require a minimum space for the safety operation when it is shifted from its upright position to its falling sideways position by supporting it by a truck which is rotatable around a horizontal axis with its center of gravity offset in such a way that it is lifted by a lifting equipment so as to be upright and fall sideways. CONSTITUTION:An upright equipment in a long form 4 having a rope 3 connected, is lifted up by a lifting equipment 1 while the other end is attached to a support section 7 of a truck 5. This allows the equipment 4 to be supported upright while the center of gravity G is offset by the distance (d) from a pin 8 toward an elastic support band 11. Subsequently, when the rope 3 is slackened, the equipment 4 falls sideways while it is supported by both the rope 3 and the elastic support band 11 which is rotated around the pin 8 because of the offset moment which is represented by the weight multiplied by the distance (d). The procedure is reversed when it is erected upright. This configuration enables the equipment in a long form to be upright and fall sideways by means of a single lifting equipment so as to require a minimum space for the safety operation.
