PURPOSE:To prevent insufficient electric charging from occurring when resetting a system and enhance reliability of the system and reducing the rate of fuel consumption, by providing a means for integrating a charging current supplied to a battery and a means for resetting the system from a released condition when the integrated value has reached or exceeded a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:A timer 40 closes a switch 43 after the elapse of a predetermined period of time from the moment a trigger signal is supplied, whereby a voltage corresponding to a battery voltage is supplied to an integrator 44. When the capacity of the battery is insufficient, a large voltage drop occurs, so that the integrated value does not reach a set point V1. Therefore, a battery-controlling signal 1 is turned OFF, and the system of the automatic stopping and starting device for the engine is released. When the amount of the electric current charged into the battery reaches or exceeds the predetermined value, a system- resetting signal is supplied to a memory circuit 46. Accordingly, insufficient charging and unrequired releasing are prevented from occurring when resetting the system, and the reliability of the system can be enhanced. |
