[Classes 44 and 89 (i).] A trophy, statuette, or other ornamental article, is detachably mounted on a plinth or other surface by means of a claw with a plurality of arms engaging the underside of the trophy, &c., means being provided for connecting the central part of the claw to the crown of the plinth or other surface. As shown in Fig. 1, the arms c of the claw have serrated ends engaging inside the lip of the hollow base a of the trophy, and a screw pin e is riveted to the upper central part d of the claw for engagement with a screw-thread or screw-threaded liner f provided in the crown b of the plinth. On screwing the pin e into the crown of the plinth the central part d of the claw is pulled downwards to force the ends of the arms c into engagement with the lip of the base a to hold the trophy securely to the plinth. In a modification the screw pin e is secured to the crown b of the plinth and engages with an internal screw-thread in the central part d of the claw. In a further modification, Fig. 5, a peg k secured to the centre of the claw has a double-conical head l adapted to snap into engagement with a spring socket m. In a still further modification, Fig. 6, an integral part of the claw, which can be of resilient sheet metal with two opposed arms, is extended downwardly to form a double-conical head n adapted to snap into engagement with a hole in the plinth. A block p is located between the sides of the head n to stiffen it. The plinth may be hollow and moulded from the material known under the registered Trade Mark " Bakelite," wood or metal. Owing to the arching of the claw and the fact that it is resilient, one size of claw can be used for several sizes of bases.
