The milling tool comprises a carrier body (12) having a rotational axis (14). The carrier body is arranged distributive over its circumference, and has multiple insert seats (15) for retaining and mounting of cutting plates (16a), which have a base section with a contact surface. The base section is pressed by clamping units towards a counter contact surface (20) at the insert seat, and is firmly clamped in a defined installation position.
