PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial bacteriocidal/bacteriostatic agent and an industrial bacteriocidal/bacteriostatic method, which are useful for antisepsis and sterilization/bacteriostasis of water from a papermaking process in a paper/pulp industry, cooling water and wash water for various industries, and industrial products such as metal processing oils, textile oils, paints, antifouling coatings, paper coating liquids, and latex, and which exhibit a pronounced putrefaction prevention effect especially in a starch slurry which is operated continuously for a long term, above all when putrefaction of the target system has proceeded considerably and when a large amount of putrid matter has mixed in the object system.SOLUTION: An industrial bacteriocidal/bacteriostatic agent contains (a) 4,5-dichloro-1,2-dithiol-3-one, (b) 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol, and (c) methylene bisthiocyanate in a ratio at which a synergistic effect is exhibited. |
