NEUREGULIN FOR TREATING HEART FAILURE

The present invention provides medication comprising neuregulin for use in methods for treating chronic heart failure patients. The methods comprise first performing a test of NYHA heart function classification of each patient before treatment; and then providing a suitable treatment to the patient according to the results of the companion diagnostic test. When the patient is NYHA class II or III as classified by the NYHA heart function classification, the patient is suitable for heart failure treatment by administering neuregulin.
