The invention discloses a device for fastening a milling cutter in the tool head of a dental handpiece driven by a turbine, which device is characterised in that balls are inserted between a cap part, which compresses a retaining spring of a clamping piece fixing the insertion end of the milling cutter, and a button, actuation of which determines the pressure upon the cap part, the balls being supported on a cap closing the head of the tool, on the one hand, and on a sleeve firmly connected with the button, on the other hand, and in that inclined running surfaces forming control surfaces are formed under the balls such that the balls rolling on the running surfaces push back the sleeve during a screwing-in movement of the button, while taking along the button firmly connected thereto and the cap part intended for compression of the spring for release of the insertion end of the milling cutter.
