The invention relates to a method for determining a risk of arrhythmia in patients with arrhythmogenic right-ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC/D) and in Brugada syndrome. Areas of application are medicine and medical engineering. The method for determining a risk of arrhythmia in patients with arrhythmogenic right-ventricular cardiomyopathy or Brugada syndrome is characterized in that the cardiac magnetic field across the anterior thoracic cage, in a rectangular measurement area of at least 20 x 20 cm, is detected at at least 36 points within this area with the aid of a biomagnetic measurement system, the measured signals of the depolarization and repolarization phases of the heart cycles are evaluated and are processed in order to establish field distribution maps for these phases, and these maps are analysed for pattern recognition using an automatic evaluation method. The method is suitable for performing individual risk assessment for the occurrence of dangerous arrhythmias in patients with ARVC and for monitoring the course of a disease of this kind, and it is also suitable as a screening method for identifying at-risk patients within different populations, so as to be able to offer these patients further diagnostic and therapeutic options. |
