The invention discloses an intravenous bolus injection for treatment of acute ischemic stroke in human subjects comprising a safe and effective amount of tenecteplase, a pharmaceutically acceptable inorganic buffer, pharmaceutically acceptable stabilising agents and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein the effective and safe dose of tenecteplase is about 0.2 mg/kg body weight when administered.
