A magnetic separator (10) for a central heating system which is more easily removable and replaceable from the water line, in particular by providing means for releasing two connectors at the same time. The invention includes a housing (12), a separation chamber within the housing (12), inlet and outlet ports (20, 20a) extending form the housing, the inlet and outlet ports including push- fit connectors (30) having collets surrounding the mouth of each of the inlet and outlet for releasing the connectors (30), and a release tool (44), the release tool (44) having first and second bearing areas (46, 48) for bearing against the collets of the inlet and outlet connectors (30), and a handle region (50, 52) for enabling force to be applied, via the bearing areas (46, 48), to both connectors simultaneously. |
