The invention relates to a sprocket for a chain drive, in particular a timing chain drive for an internal combustion engine, comprising a radially outer toothed ring and a damping ring, which is axially spaced apart radially inside of the toothed ring, for supporting link plates of the timing chain, wherein the damping ring has a surface on the radial outside that is complementary to the link plates engaged with the sprocket. Because of the design of the sprocket according to the invention, the damping ring is subject to practically no wear, can be produced of a conventional material, and is economical to produce. |
