A vehicle display device which is installed in vehicles, and is equipped with: a display panel that displays information relating to a vehicle; a display control unit that displays an opening animation image in a predetermined display region on the display panel; and a detection unit that detects the getting-in action relating to an occupant getting into the vehicle. After the startup of the driving source for the running of the vehicle, the display control unit displays, in the predetermined display region, a checklist showing the check results of the states of parts of the vehicle as the information relating to the vehicle. When the getting-in action is detected by the detection unit, the display control unit starts a display operation to display the opening animation image in the display region on the display panel, and maintains the display operation at least until the time when the checklist is displayed. The display control unit displays, on the display panel, an animation image, as the opening animation image, such that the image display which changes the display form of a graphics object is periodically repeated. |
