The invention relates to a handle for an endoscope, comprising a grip section (18) onto which a receiving housing (26) is moulded, preferably integrally, in which electrical and/or electronic components of a communication device are housed with an operating station of the endoscope, and on the outer face of which a control panel (16) preferably in the form of a keyboard or touch screen is arranged and electrically connected to said communication device. According to the invention, the communication device provides a cable-free connection to the operating station to which all functions of the endoscope, specifically optics and lighting, actuation of the bending section, injecting rinsing solutions or medication, or sucking up liquids, are or can be connected.
