[Class 133.] A sleeping bag open at the end only comprises an outer bag 1, preferably of impregnated fabric, and an inner bag 2 so arranged therein that interspaces 3 extending across the full width of the bag are provided above and below it for the reception of straw or other heatinsulating material. The two bags may be afforded by stitching together along the edges four superposed layers of fabric 4-7, Fig. 1, or each bag may consist of tubular woven fabric, Fig. 4, or again a tubular woven inner bag may be encased in outer layers of fabric. The inner bag may be shorter than the outer one, affording a space between them at the closed end. In the construction shown in Fig. 4 the inner and outer bags are releasably connected together by a cord 18 being passed from the exterior through holes 16 and threaded through loops 17 of a second cord attached to the inner bag. Specification 398,700 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes forms in which both the inner and outer bags have longitudinal openings closable by sliding clasp fasteners, one such form, shown in Fig. 7 (Cancelled), being provided with means for attachment to a disjointable frame 20 to serve as a stretcher. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.</p> |
