An image processing apparatus comprising: a memory device including a plurality of memories and stacked on an SoC die, wherein the memory device is connected to an image processing controller via a memory controller; a plurality of image processing modules configured to execute respective image processing functions in accordance with an image processing job; a temperature acquisition unit, implemented by the image processing controller, configured to acquire temperature information of plurality of memories of the memory device via the memory controller before the image processing controller activates one of the image processing modules; and a deciding unit, implemented by the image processing controller, configured to, when execution of an image processing function is instructed and before the image processing controller activates an image processing module within the image processing modules that corresponds to the image processing function, decide on a lower-temperature memory within the plurality of memories that is to be used by the image processing module, based on a memory size to be used by the image processing module, and the temperature information of the plurality of memories acquired by the temperature acquisition unit.
