Provided is a liquid crystal display element in which a liquid crystal composition that contains one or more liquid crystal compounds held between two transparent substrates, at least one of which having an electrode, contains a polymer or copolymer that is a cured polymerizable composition containing one or more polymerizable compounds and a liquid crystal compound that has the function of generating radicals through the agency of light or heat; the polymerizable composition content relative to the total weight of the polymerizable composition and the liquid crystal composition being at least 1% by mass to less than 40% by mass. |
