The present invention relates to a composition for early diagnosis of obesity and a use thereof and, more specifically, to a composition for early diagnosis of obesity, the composition containing an agent for measuring the mRNA or protein level of Lpar5 gene, of which the expression is reduced in only a mild obesity group, to a method for providing information for early diagnosis, and to a method for screening a metabolic syndrome therapeutic material. The Lpar5 gene according to the present invention was verified: to show a significantly reduced expression in a mild obesity group retaining metabolic syndrome compared with a normal group, the groups being classified on the basis of the body mass index; and to show an improved metabolic syndrome according to the increased expression of the Lpar5 gene when a terocarpan-enhanced bean leaf ethanol extract is administered. Therefore, the Lpar5 gene is expected to be favorably utilized as a biomarker for early diagnosis for the prevention or treatment of obesity-related complications including metabolic syndrome, for diagnosis of drug reaction, for a therapeutic target of obesity-related complications, and for development and screening of therapeutic materials. |
