[Class 113 (ii)] [See also Group XV] A toy speedboat has a deck with a rolled or inturned edge and a hull made from a single sheet of metal by stamping or pressing without seam or joint, the edge of the hull fitting elastically within the edge of the deck. The bottom of the boat may have one or more steps or may be stepless, and meets the sides of the boat to form a hard chine over a portion or the whole length of the boat, the bottom being of flat V and/or rounded V- form over a portion or the whole length of the boat. Various hull forms are illustrated. The hull 1 of the boat has an outwardly turned flange 17 fitting elastically within the rolled or inturned edge 16 of the detachable one piece sheet metal deck 15. A false prow or cutwater 2 having an acute edge may be fitted and extends downwardly to form a hook 3 for securing at one end, the rubber bands 4, the other ends of which are secured within a hook on a propeller shaft 5 which has two upset lugs 6 for keying the propeller 7 to the shaft. The false prow 2 may be formed of sheet metal and has flaps 28 on its upper end which can be bent over within the hull as shown in Fig. 3 to secure it firmly in position. The shaft 5 passes through a bearing 8 in the sheet metal rudder bracket 9 and has a sleeve end 10 notched for the reception of a winding key. The rudder bracket 9 has a lug 10 fitting within upset ribs 11 forming a dovetailed guide with the bottom of the hull 1. The bracket 9 is secured to the hull by turning over tongues 12 and is cut away and lapped back on itself to provide for corresponding projections on the sheet metal rudder 13 secured to the bracket 9 by the rudder bar 14. The prow 2 may be extended to form two hooks connected by separate elastic bands to two propellers mounted on a bracket, and according to the Provisional Specification, two rudders and rudder brackets may be utilized. A central fin or keel may be added to the boat.
