A switch has an operating member which can be pushed to operate one set of contacts acted on by springs surrounding plunger and cylinder arrangements, and which can be turned to operate other contacts on a bar acted on by a return spring. The operating member 1 is secured to a spindle 11 carrying a cam 13 which by rotation of the member 1 through 180 degrees co-operates with a plunger 14 or 15, depression of which operates with snap action normally-open and normally-closed contact sets 16, 18. Rotation of the spindle actuates contacts 27 via cams 30, the spindle being located at 90-degree steps by spring-loaded bars 22. The spindle may be locked by a cylinder lock and bolt 7, 8, and/or by an electromagnetic lock 33. An indicator lamp 6 is included in the arrangement shown, but an electromagnetic indicator may be used (Fig. 9, not shown). Several switches may be ganged together by gearing (Fig. 6, not shown). |
