Sept. 21, 1933, No. 26037. [Class 74 (ii)] In yarn-changing means employing multiple trappers, each yarn that is out of action is clamped between a pair of jaws or blades, the arrangement being such that only those blades of the series are opened, between which that particular yarn is located. The invention is described in connection with a machine with a stationary dial but is applicable to other machines. The blades 29 .. 32 are mounted on a common pivot 33 and normally held in close contact against an abutment 28 by springs. Each blade is controlled by a slide such as 21 operated by a plunger 26 movable to various heights to catch the staggered ends 22 .. 25 of the slides. The Figure shows an end 24 being pushed in to separate the blades 31, 32 and release the corresponding yarn. The blades 29, 30 are displaced in a clockwise direction without separating from the blade 31. The plunger 26 also engages an abutment on a fifth slide, carrying a pivoted cutter blade, whatever the position of the plunger. A wire 49 prevents yarns from passing too far into the space between the blades as any yarn is withdrawn. |
