A monitoring device stores: a database storing a phenomenon data group indicating time-series observation values at predetermined time intervals, said observation values being observed by a sensor for observing the behavior of an object to be monitored; stability information storing, for each of the phenomenon data sets, the stability indicating how stably the object to be monitored is operated; and operation history information storing sensor identification information, a certain time zone, and an operation content performed on the object to be monitored in said time zone. The monitoring device calculates the stability of input phenomenon data and determines whether the object to be monitored indicates a specific behavior or not. When the object to be monitored indicates the specific behavior, the monitoring device acquires, from the stability information, the stability of the phenomenon data continuously following analogous phenomenon data of the input phenomenon data after the period of the analogous phenomenon data until said stability becomes a stability under which the object to be monitored does not indicate the specific behavior. The monitoring device thereby generates analogous case data by combining the analogous phenomenon data and the following phenomenon data, the stability of which is obtained, identifies the operation content corresponding to the period of the analogous case data from the operation history information, and outputs the analogous case data and the operation content in association with each other. |
