PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reliably preventing the occurrence of image rubbing and fixing wrinkles in association with a twist of a sheet.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a transfer member 23 that transfers a toner image onto a sheet while conveying the sheet; fixing members 30 and 32 that are provided on the downstream side of the transfer member 23 in a conveyance direction of the sheet to fix the toner image on the sheet while conveying the sheet; a loop sensor 40 that detects the deflection amount of the sheet between the transfer member 23 and the fixing members 30 and 32; and a control unit that controls the transfer speed at which the transfer member 23 conveys the sheet, and the fixing speed at which the fixing members 30 and 32 convey the sheet. The control unit increases the transfer speed or decreases the fixing speed in a period from when a tip part in the conveyance direction of the sheet passes through a detection position of the loop sensor 40 to when the tip part reaches the fixing members 30 and 32. |
