PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device which is capable of surely performing the transfer of a toner image from an image carrier and the cleaning of the surface of a transfer body, even when the transfer device does not include a cleaning member for the transfer body and to provide an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 comprises: an intermediate transfer belt 21; a secondary tranafer belt 31; a driving roller 22; a power supply unit 5; and a control part 200. The power supply unit 5 comprises: a first power supply part 51 transforming a secondary transfer voltage into a constant current and applying it; and a second power supply unit 52 switching a cleaning voltage, to transform it into a constant voltage or the constant current and apply it. When the toner image carried by the intermediate transfer belt 21 is transferred to a paper, the control part 200 controls the power supply unit 5, to transform the cleaning voltage into the constant voltage and to transform the secondary transfer voltage into the constant current, to apply it to the driving roller 22. When the secondary transfer belt 31 is cleaned, the control part 200 controls the power supply unit 5, to stop the application of the secondary transfer voltage and to transform the cleaning voltage into the constant current and apply it to the driving roller 22. |
