[Class 38 (v)] In a quick-action switch of the tumbler type the switch is operated by means of a key 18 rotatable about an axis perpendicular to the plane of movement of the contacts. The key 18 is adapted to engage a slot 17 in a turn member 12 having fixed to it a U-shaped member 13 the other end of which engages a depression 7<a> in a plate 7 which slides on two plates which pass through slots 6<a> in the member 7. These plates are fixed to a member carrying roller contacts 5 which are adapted to roll along the bottom of the casing under the control of a quick-action spring 8.
