The present invention relates to a format system for a rod-making machine in the tobacco-processing industry for forming a rod (1) and wrapping the rod (1) with a wrapping strip (9), comprising a base part (2) extending in the transporting direction of the rod (1), also comprising a format belt (7) which is accommodated in the base part (2), is intended for transporting the wrapping strip (9) and has an inner side (8), an outer side (10), a first periphery (11) and a second periphery (12), which is located opposite the first periphery (11), and further comprising a covering part (13) which is arranged opposite the base part (2), extends in the transporting direction of the rod (1) and has a guide portion (22, 27, 28), for accommodating the first periphery (11) of the format belt (7), and a supporting surface (23, 26), for supporting the wrapping strip (9), in the case of which production of formed rods can be improved, in particular the formation of creases and/or markings on a produced rod is largely avoided, in that the guide portion (22, 27, 28) is offset in relation to the envelope of the supporting surface (23, 26), as seen in section, at least in a format-system portion which extends in the transporting direction of the rod (1). The present invention also relates to a covering part (13, 14, 15) for a format system of a rod-making machine in the tobacco-processing industry, having a retaining part (17, 19) and having a forming part (18, 20) which is connected to the retaining part (17, 19) and has a concave supporting surface (23, 26) extending in the circumferential direction, and in the longitudinal direction, by means of which production of formed rods is improved, in particular the formation of creases and/or markings on a produced rod is largely avoided, by the formation, between the retaining part (17, 19) and the forming part (18, 20), of a guide portion (22, 27, 28) which is bounded on two sides, as seen in section, by walls (24, 25; 28, 29; 39, 40) and is intended for guiding a format belt (7), in particular for guiding a periphery (11, 12) of the format belt (7). |
