PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater having enhanced long term reliability.SOLUTION: A heater 10 includes a ceramic body 1, and a heat element 2 provided on the principal surface of the ceramic body 1 and containing metal particles. In the cross-sectional view of the heat element 2, metal particles on a second surface 22, located on the reverse side of a first surface 21, are longer than the metal particles on a first surface 21 in contact with the ceramic body 1, in a direction parallel with the principal surface. The second surface 22 having particles long in a direction parallel with the principal surface has few boundary surfaces in a direction perpendicular to the principal surface. Consequently, even if crack occurs, progress of which can be suppressed. |
