PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine capable of reducing leakage magnetic flux between magnetic poles of a rotor regardless of an embedded permanent magnet rotor structure, and also to provide a hoist for an elevator.SOLUTION: A unit magnetic pole unit constituting a magnetic pole of a rotor 3 is constituted of permanent magnets 41, 42, and a magnetic pole yoke 32a having magnetic housing holes 32h1, 32h2 for housing and holding the permanent magnets 41, 42 and being composed of a magnetic material separately from a rotor yoke 31. A rotary electric machine is provided which is retained on the outer peripheral surface of the rotor yoke 31 by being separated at a prescribed interval in the circumferential direction of the rotor yoke 31. |
